I find I can have them with almost all meals every day, because they are quite tasty and convenient.
This is one of the most terrific chilli sauce I have ever tried.
老干妈辣酱 [lǎo gàn mā là jiàng]
It's made from crisp hot pepper. It's "crisp" because it is fried first before pickling. Smell it first before devouring! It smells really really really tasty, tastes not that spicy though.
Most of the time I have it replace soy sauce while having meal. So far I've tried it with soup, noodles, rice and even bread. Have one in your refrigerator and just put some in your dish to make food delicious at any time. I think 老干妈辣酱 is quite popular aroud the world; I've found it in many Chinese shop in UK and the U.S.A. Of course it's more easy to get one in China and Taiwan. I just bought this one for 80 NT (about 2.5 USD) at 7-11 downstairs.
By the way, note that the brand is "老干妈". I've noticed that due to its great popularity, there appear 山寨版 [shān zhài bǎn] in the market such as ''老干爹" and "老干娘".

“Cowherd and Girl wearer” 牛郎织女 [niulangzhinu] is a very beautiful story which is also the original story about where Chinese Valentine’s Day comes from. Jade emperor has many daughters, the 7th daughter is the most beautiful and intelligent one. She is called “girl wearer”.
One day, the 7 daughters came to the earth and had bath in the river, by that time, Cowherd was passing by the river as well, he picked up one dress (which just belonged to Girl Wearer), then, as you know, they fall in love with each other and have a pigeon pair! This kind of thing always happen and always not allow in the fairyland, therefore, Girl Wearer were sent back to the fairyland.
Cowherd has a cow which came from the fairyland, he told Cowherd ”after I passed away, you can make a shoe by using my skin, it will take you to the fairyland” Cowherd followed what that cow said, and flied to sky. When he nearly met Girl Wearer, he stopped by the Galaxy which was made by Mother Queen’s hairpin. But luckily, the magpies were moved by their love and bridge for them. Finally, Cowherd and Girl Wearer can meet together!
Cowherd and Girl Wearer were still not allow to meet after all, Mother Queen felt sorry to them when she saw their love on the magpies bridge. She said to them “you can meet each other once a year from now on the 7th of July in the lunar calendar on magpies bridge ”
From now, if you see drizzle on that day, you know Cowherd and Girl Wearer both cry in the sky.
